A request that I want to make, after making "The Story of Android 100: Future Town"

Image
So, here goes. Just in time that I told ya this story before I start to get bored. You see, this is (maybe not) the last time I do this, writing short stories as in... following the Indonesian tradition of the past, and becoming a part of my hobby beside the gaming. This is the new kind of story that I like most, at least. I've been thinking the possibilities of how the drama turns out for my beloved fictional clone robots of Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha, and this is the result. BoruSara, after the struggle against the world in 2060s, ends up in a world of post-nuclear apocalypse in year 2300s, similar to Fallout 4 . I get the point on why I do this. It's not just for fun and creativity; it's about telling my life story in a different representation and how I get in love with it. At the end of the day, BoruSara now lives in a faction called Brotherhood of Steel, where this is a faction that values technology and destroys anything that designed to destroy t...

FIM-92 Stinger Missile Launcher mod for Battlefield 2?

Image
Whilst in the mid of work, I always asked about one particular question of this guy's mod on ModDB (which said that it's from people but not credited accordingly): where the hell does he get the weapons other than ModDB? Inside the archive, I found a fancy weapon: FIM-92A Stinger missile launcher - definitely handheld and from Battlefield 4 . Guy who made that is the one I found on most of his BF3/BF4 weapons release, Develop013. This is, from what I know, different than that CHPower/Lion's Roar/Real Wars mod, which the mesh model is using the classic BF2 and all that. It's like I'm searching all over the world for a simple yet handy tutorial of skin modding in Ace Combat 7 , which I finally found it just by trying keywords. The others are even fancier. AK-74 Custom (which is called AK747), HK416... two of them are made by the same guy, Develop013. Then there's this M82A1 that made by a guy named kyron (I'm sure it's found on Crossfire map mod or...

Thinking about loosen up some loads on BF2 mods

Image
So, I have this idea just in a midst of working for my essay and browsing some BF2 mods for a while. This looks like a heap of junk if most mods I see in my directory list is not in use for whatever reasons . This heap of junk includes mods that Idk if there's any use of it, or if I can use those resources (I'm not a real expert in BF2 modding, like transferring one object to another without causing a game crash). Most of the time I spent changes on addons folder, of which I managed mostly weapon mods - that alone is huge in size. This heap of junk is mostly grew large in size because of map mods. Kinda a bit surprised that this looks like GTA San Andreas by any chance, but yeah... BF:HDR ( HDR 2.0 - Vanilla Sky ) is probably suited for the powerful PC rig that I'm using. Lappy and BF:HDR doesn't go well (except if my lappy is Alienware or smth). Heat of Battle (HoB) is compatible with it; Idk about Forgotten Hope 2 , but who knows if it can go well with BF:HDR? ...

Something tells me about BF2's AI instability

Apart from screwing around the AI data to fix some bugs EA left on Battlefield 2 game (especially SP maps), something tells me that there's more about this AI instability. Apparently, dunno why, but I see random crashes before I finally made major adjustments to the weapons set to match the aesthetic (original) BF2 style with minor adjustments. Game crashes on some maps, which firstly I thought that flying a transport helicopter can crash the game when fully filled with passengers that are AI (computer-controlled player). However, what I thought today is that the AI system is bugged since this game was made, even though EA stopped patching this game and left it as it is. It has been a trouble for not just me, but everyone who usually played single-player in BF2 to measure combat skills with computer-controlled players. Some weapons' AI data tend to be bugged on some point, especially when the weapon was placed dead last on slot 8. Game crashed when an AI tries to equip a ...

CHPower; ah, yes

Image
Mods possibility are endless with the existence of Battlefield 2 Editor application, and this Chinese mod is no exception. CHPower Mod. One that's released in 2011 and didn't saw any continuation on that project. Where's the developer making it, then? Cool vehicles, made by hand by Chinese mod developers. I'll leave the modpage button below. Apparently, I've tested what have in store for only 4 maps in SP mode, and I found interesting weapon sets, vehicles, and of course, balances. Planes performed very well and nicely balanced, but sad that they can't go more than 600 km/h as in original Battlefield 2 game, or more than 800/900 km/h in afterburners. What questions me much is J23. This plane is strangely similar to J-15 I flew recently in Lions Roar, however the mobility is crazy af, but stability is oddly low, meaning you can do sharp maneuvers like "Ace Combat series can go f*** yourself", or I'll say, "physics on fleek" as i...

Lions Roar - J-15's maneuverability is crazy af

Image
Other than the fact that majority of Battlefield 2 default planes are stable and steadily maneuverable, one that I don't like about Lions Roar mod , a Chinese modpack for Battlefield 2 that focuses you on a war between China and the Allied states, is, new planes maneuverability. PLA Navy J-15 and PLA Air Force Q-5 (?) (or maybe FC-1, as it's called for a Chinese fighter jet that's almost identical to MiG Project 1.44) have crazy maneuverabilities, as what I recall on Swiss001's videos, "physics on fleek". Literally killed the plane physics as a whole with J-15 and Q-5 (or maybe FC-1) in game, as it turned out to be practically imbalance with other fighter jets original Battlefield 2 has to offer - this is also a honorable mention for F-2A too, the addition of plane from Japan for its new coalition set (Japan). I've seen the Q-5's (FC-1's) crazy maneuverability when an AI is flying it (ofc I play this game in SP; never have a chance to taste...

There IS actually a debug mode

Image
I never thought that this game doesn't have one. That's why crashes dumped to Event Viewer show the same error code that pointed to the game executable itself: 0x80000003. So I searched yesterday and today about "how to enable debug mode in battlefield 2", and this link is making me go through shortcut editing to insert additional commands before running the game. Next to a "+modpack blahblahblah" command line, there's something more that can help me do "stack traceback", figuring out what's wrong after doing sh*tty modifications on almost whole things for my own SP experience, if I ever be able to figure out how to fix the AI that randomly crashes the game (unfortunately, Google Search provides limited results on what I want). Unfortunately, debugging is only possible (with an addition of output logs to show which object is conflicting, which geometry is missing, or which texture is missing) if you install BF2Editor and run BF2_r.exe ...

I discovered what caused BF2 to crash (because of add-ons and data editing)

Image
So, jerking around with BF2 mods again after I tried to find out "what in the world that caused this sh*t", I found one interesting thing that caused BF2 to stop loading and crashes while loading Objects. This is only one issue I found out, and I'm examining the US kits. BF4 Incendiary grenade. I tried to play around with the item index two weeks ago and changed its position to 8th one to match up with the Real Wars mod released in ModDB. At this point idk what caused the game to refuse loading this grenade even though I set it up at the 8th position and assigned it correctly. Something else is interfering with the loading process, of which I have no idea where to look to. At this point, the grenade is beyond unusable unless if I'm changing something within its code inside the corresponding *.tweak file. Idk if this will gonna work, but if this small change (at the Help section where it was said "bf4_incendiary" instead of "ushgr_m67") ca...

I've been pushing more of the BF2 modding

Image
And now I've pushed more of the modding capability for BF2, and what I got is the same exception code like the last one. Much, much different than the case with GOL MSR one. At this point, the game is beyond bricked situation that modding capabilities of this game also have limitations like some GTA games without any user bugfixes, although frankly, no debugging makes this game's error hard to be traced. It only crashed pointing to the main executable (and not RendDX9.dll - this only happen if game is loading a mesh file that isn't exist, or the mesh contain geometry errors) with exception code 0x80000003 (software corruption or faulty configuration in one of the Windows driver files). I assume it has something to do with game memory, which used to load maximum number of objects that can be loaded in game. BF2 is an old game that has limitations but surprisingly stable (no memory leak, random crashes on some map because of the bots). The case of this is that BF2...

I've done what I can to mod BF2 to its maximum potential

Looks like the mod installation and data editing has been done. I've done what I can to mod Battlefield 2 to its maximum potential. Excluding the vehicle mods/add-ons, there are over 200 to 300 weapon mods/add-ons that have been installed correctly (i.e. editing the files that's problematic to prevent ingame crashes). Few are not installed because of game crashing, instabilities, or weird data handling. So to say, there's not much I can do to edit more of them; the rest is now on vehicle mods/add-ons. A lot of weapons seemed to be (re)worked from the ground-up and used cool animations that I've never seen before. And now, there's a weapon that's quite interesting, particularly as a substitute of an anti-air weapon, though I've never seen it in actual gameplay where this weapon was came from. RORSCH X1. This weird weapon (a railgun) is one of a kind in its game where it's coming from: Battlefield 4 . Just like many weapons that implement electroma...

Weapon add-ons (which one?) crashed the game

I'm thinking which one that caused the problem with the game crashing during objects loading (around 0 to 15%) in Battlefield 2 I just mod on the original game. The crash is without explanation in Windows 10, but it always left a log concerning what happened in Event Viewer. The crash itself is unusual. Rather than pointing to RendDX9.dll (which typically caused by missing mesh file, usually in *.bundledmesh extension), it's pointing to the main executable itself, with the error/exception code similar to what happened when a mesh file is missing, 0x80000003. The exception code 0x80000003 is usually found on a corrupted file when an executable is loading it, the library (which is corrupted) the executable is using, or the executable itself is corrupted. Typically your common sh*t days when your PC got so many virus or malware/ransomware that you have to nuke it (reinstall your OS) because the system files are infected. I encountered that long time ago, where the viruses wer...

Okay... this is legit site for getting ALL expansion packs

Okay, I tested the archive; it's in 7Z format, should be nothing to worry about unless WinRAR is sh*tting with me. I've downloaded 7-Zip and tested it out just in case. In case you wondering, this is the continuation of the last post that I'm concerning its legitimacy for providing free downloads for part-time gamers. The complete edition it's providing has nothing to worry about; this is the legit site I've been downloading from MEGA cloud storage, shown very first from the Google Search list. Now the problem itself lies to the user who doesn't have MEGA account. This is indeed a bit of problematic, because the free quota for downloading for public, non-registered user is VERY limited; if it's exceeded, you'll have to register a new account, or sign in if you have one. Signing in to MEGA is always a good start for downloading some stuffs that's big-sized in MEGA, let's say... a 4 GB file that's important for you. The servers have free...

This site has unknown legitimacy for BF2 download

I decided to reset this BF2 installation on my old PC as well and install a fresh new copy of BF2, but turns out, I don't bring anything except new clothes still in plastic wrap today. So, I had to download it from the internet. I found one particular site, apparently storing full version of the game, along with the DLC/expansion packs as well. Well, ain't that something? However, something that concerned me is, I have MEGA account, I used it in case of emergency, used MEGASync to offload it from the DL server, and I saw no red flag. Could it mean it's password protected like those I've been hassling before in the previous post? If this is indeed true, I have no idea where else I could take a look for this 14-year-old game that I first played in maybe 2009 or so when I got my first PC, which is the old one I'm using at the apartment. I won't be trusting Internet about downloading sh*t anymore if so. Having an account there means I can open more places to ...

Legitimately bypassing this?

Image
I've seen this video in my private browsing that uploaded last year; idk if this can work on files shared from someone that... ehh... not legitimately mine. Idk, this is giving me chills. I'd be risking my MediaFire account for something this crazy (except if you buy that legit on Amazon) by bypassing that stupid error code that blocks the part 5 of the download (whereas others aren't). I highly doubt that part 5 of the download is probably something malicious that MediaFire flag it as a ToS violation. And I have no idea if this can work with other user, especially a folder that is shared to everyone (but I guess I'll give it a shot and get back to this post for updates. The only way to do this is to log on to the user in question and download manually from that user (using the bypass method on that YT video). I've tried and it works on shared folder, but no... it still doesn't work, AT ALL. I'll try another shot after I visit the guy who's upl...

It's quite hard to get BF2 Special Forces (Pack) these days

Image
Title. It's the worst case scenario I can find here on the Internet after... what, 15 years? Tell you what, one coincidence I found this YouTube video with seemingly "working" MediaFire link when the video told the audience where they should go, so I go to the surprisingly very obsolete and "somewhat" abandoned blog site, go into the Games filter/label and there's the thing I've been asking for. I've checked the MediaFire folder and looks like it's split into 7 parts (with the new UI look saying that file sharing is restricted, what?). I haven't yet tried to download it, but there's one working torrent link with no doubt, password sh*t that directs me to one of the most thing I hated so far, survey . Like, what's up with this guy, putting encryption and all that sh*t, this is 2019, dickwad! I've seen several cases with this. One is The Last movie, another is DCS: Black Shark 2 keygen, and another , is the frickin...

More BF2 Mods, Reset BF2 installation for 1.5 Patch

ModDB seemed to be a kind of paradise when it comes to mods and addons, and I said, "no sh*t". I haven't yet going back to ZM3 again after the license expired, but... eh... you know that I have other amends to do, especially the teacher instructed me and other students to create a proposal based on the title I mostly preferred. Turns out, as a matter of fact, I haven't yet handed over the plans of it, although 3 are already planned. I haven't yet fixed the modding environment, and I have TONS of new mods ready to be used; it's gonna be a game-breaking for sure, because this, this GTA V game, is the most stable GTA game so far that there are mods/addons that can break the game's limitations. But as you know... maybe I will; it's only a matter of when . Not just Ace Combat 7 and HRT (I haven't yet got a track progress on it, seems that Flame maybe stopped working on it, idk), Battlefield 2 seemed to be having a bunch of "best quality ...

Skeleton (re)designing and somehow I screwed up BF2 installation

Image
Well, modifying the skeleton to match the finger orientation isn't really the best idea to go on, actually. That's what I thought after watching the Zagor.TV's tutorial video once again. Hitler model was left as it is, with no changes on its skeleton it was using. He just only have to copy mesh weight from source model to destination model. Pretty much simple as it is, though. However, faulty mesh from my public beta ped mod I created was really sourced from the highly edited skeleton, of which the fingers are involved. The finger bones have been heavily modified to match the finger orientation, since for some reason, models exported in OBJ format have some non-welded vertices, which when I reposition a vertex, another vertex that isn't welded won't follow. It could be best if I used the same skeleton set from avenxares213's Dante ped mod, but I won't be touching the finger bones. Had to say, one of the reasons there's a faulty mesh on a model wa...

So, this FO4 game... (and more for this week)

Idk what just happened. No crash report whatsoever, the program just exits by itself as if there are no errors. Looks like it tried to play safe on application execution; however, no debugs or things like that. I might gonna have a look on the installed mods, or... whatever I previously did on the quest, as... the savegame seems pretty much far from my last save point when I was at Vault 88. Clearly not in relation with mods, however... Now, moving on... I recently knew, and dug deep into the BF2 mods, and they seem to be "no joking"; there are mods (addons, or whatever you call it) that are... between you have to mod it on your own, or just install it easy as pie. The mods are at ModDB, the same where I got the AC7 skin mods that some are not exist in Nexus. I managed to get a handful of mods to be installed separately, on the BF2HD, as a new ZIP archive. To be frank with this, though, BF2HD has installed some of the mods that exists; just so that some weapons are n...

C O M P L I C A T I O N S

Image
Had to be frank with this one, though. There are complications here and there, as a matter of fact. Some maps in BF2 HD Remastered I played tend to be unstable and crashing the game itself. I've tested it with about 66 (64 on old PC) bots in SP match and there are some points where it can crash the game. Back before I know "Heat of Battle" and BF2 HD Remastered mods, in version 1.0 of BF2, game crashes when I fly a helicopter filled with passengers (transport helicopter) and loiter around with it. I avoided it to maintain a stable gameplay. However, what I don't understand is that, not because of it that caused game crash, but something else. Maybe because of the excessive amount of bots or something that still left some gaps that can broke the game code if accidentally used. I have no idea what it could be. Even though the latest patch was out there before I knew it (Patch v1.5 was released 9 years ago), game crashes like this is pretty much unavoidable. Nex...

Jerking around with new BF2 Mods I found after...

Image
This video explains everything. The last two showcase clips of the MK153 SMAW rocket launcher video explains that the classic game I owned during my junior high school days, Battlefield 2 , apparently has mods that I didn't aware of; just figured out few days ago after I thought, "are those 'Heat of Battle' and 'HD Remastered' version of those BF2 games are official release or not?" Not that I want to explain like, "EA, what the f**k?" Googled that sh*t before I will go back home later on yesterday and today, and turns out, those things for BF2, they're not official releases by EA (Electronic Arts), but mods . Yeah. Mods , like how you mod GTA V and other GTA games as of today. I gotta give thanks to this guy, Tigerfield, on YouTube, for knowing the references based from "x different games" thing. That gives me a whole lot knowledge about games that I didn't know that uses specific weapon in the action-shooting games (F...
