The Last: Naruto the Movie is the tenth overall Naruto film and the seventh Naruto Shippūden film, made to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the franchise. This is also the first entry in the Start of a New Era Project, and the first film to be an official part of the canon Naruto storyline and is set between the last two chapters of the original manga series.
It premiered in theaters on December 6, 2014. The Last became the highest-grossing feature film in the franchise, earning ¥1.94 billion (US$16.5 million).
