Clarification and translation automation on YouTube

 I have to say, the way I write this in the title is related to what I write back in 2021. Why do I say so? Look no further than SomeOrdinaryGamers, the one channel that is best described as the anti-mainstream gaming channel that talks about anything and everything.

 So, what happened?

If you haven't noticed recently, most, if not all, YouTube videos out there (it might happen to anyone who have subscribed to certain channels), have automated translations to video description and title and AI-driven dubbing system that can convert what you're saying in the video (you or anyone else) to be dubbed based on what you're saying in their native languages. Apparently, Indonesian is covered in this subject, to which I brought up the attention of the old post I wrote back in 2021, where the AI was at its infancy (there wasn't even an AI chatbot like ChatGPT at that time).

Ngl, there are translations that are either wacky or just don't fit right in based on the language formality ("Improved Spelling" and words recorded within the "Big Indonesian Dictionary" for example), and there are videos that are auto-dubbed in other languages with US English being the "real/actual" audio while the video itself is Japanese 🤣🤣🤣 (STORM MASTER channel is subject to this funny cringe). WTF is going on with YouTube and its AI automation, bruh? 😅 This is what I call the corpo greed at this point because people nowadays are pushing the AI technology into their lives.

Like, I don't mind if any video is having the description translated from any language to a native language based on UI language settings, but let's be honest; while there are browser extensions out there that can allow you to see the original, non-translated description of a video (Chrome | Firefox), the YouTube app itself doesn't even feature it unless modded or hacked (not sure if YouTube Revanced has this "detranslation" feature baked in, but what I read is that SmartTube for use with STBs/Set Top Boxes or simply TV boxes has this feature). Also, while the first time it looked funny (I'm sure y'all did), the next one won't. Not to mention, one time while I was watching a Shorts video, the audio smh switched over to my native language, which is Indonesian, and according to some posts I've read on Reddit while searching for the extension that cover this, it applies only to one video. This is literally an L taking into the account of the state of YouTube in 2025. Like, who the hell thought that adding auto-translate and auto-dubbing features are a good idea?

Also, it's pretty well-conceived by SOG (the short term I often say for SomeOrdinaryGamers) that after the Rainbow Six: Siege-related video 3 months ago since this writing, he disabled the auto-translation and auto-dubbing on post-upload, making his contents organic and pure, to which I like. Also, the auto-translation and auto-dubbing is inconsistent, like the case I have with STORM MASTER; some videos are original and non-translated, the rest did not. It depends on whether the AI can process the audio, though, to which the speech recognition process is taking place here.

Ik for the fact that he's making contents revolving around GTA Online, but nowadays, he quit doing so in favor of his buddy called REAL Savage Salty Cabbage (to which he is renowned to be called as "Cabbage" or "the Green Man" by Heli). This seemed to be aligned with why I stopped playing GTA these days (and not just because my parents despised me of doing unnecessary violence, intended or not, and whether you're a cop or a civilian), so after I dived in to accompany him since Resident Evil 3: Nemesis stream back in around September-October 2024, I managed to gain his trust and made me a moderator to moderate the chat in his live streaming sessions, to which it removes the restriction of how many chats you can make in short time.

He's aware with this dilemma too, to which his new videos these days are still organic and pure, no translations that seemed to, at least in my perspective, be linked with how I do copy-paste certain or the whole text to Google Translate. He even also said (in one of the Subnautica streams) that some of his older GTA videos are translated, but it was manual. Like, he put whatever he's writing in the description to Google Translate and let the translation do the work, then he copy-pasted that into YouTube as a language translation that separates between English and other languages. It's even no surprise that translations may fail to work with some phrases and keywords, evidenced by what I wrote in 2021 where "wholesome" is mistranslated as "healthy whole" when translated back, to which I found it funny 😆 later on.

IMO, these features seemed to be linked with how the content creators wanted their videos to look like. Some may even left them as is (or at their defaults), to which it's no surprise that new videos suffer from this if your app's UI language settings is using the one native to your country of origin (or at least where you live and are accustomed to). I can't ignore the fact that many viewers are despising this automation feature that is now AI-driven, even on Reddit that Indonesia had been banning since 2014. I'm just glad some YouTubers are aware of this, to which they disabled these features for organic and pure content.

Funny Translations Translated Back 🤣

Now, onto the subject of "translations that when translated back turns funny".


 I was expecting the title should look like what Real KeV3n was trying to show. Why should I said "should"?

 

Left side is translated to Indonesian, right side is translated back from Indonesian to English. This is where the funny comes in. It should have been "cool wanted level lifehack in GTA" and not "small level lifehacks want in GTA" 🤣🤣🤣. I have no idea how the fuck the auto-translation screwed up on this part, to which it produced this horrible result that not even a local language expert can explain. Not to mention, to translate the video title/description or a comment on a phone, you have to take a screenshot and upload it to Google Translate, which is double the work considering that this translation feature only applies to the comments, not what's written in the video description or title.

Then, we have this:


 Idk if this is auto-translation quirk or not, but when I look up the Indonesian "cloning" word's synonym over Google, it found literally nothing apart from related searches like from Quora, but even then it was informal (although I admit that the "return translation" from KeV3n's Shorts video is 100% accurate) and not in accordance to "Big Indonesian Dictionary" that I talked about.

The quirk I'm saying is that it outputs "mengklonasi" instead of  "mengklonakan" in accordance to the "Big Indonesian Dictionary" ("Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia" or KBBI). The base/root word according to it was "klona," to which I found it familiar in the Indonesian UI language of Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections game. This is where I respect the localization team of UNSC game where what they translate follows the accordance of "Improved Spelling" system (to which in Indonesian is called "Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan"), so when someone was curious with some new, unfamiliar words in native language (in this case, Indonesian), he or she can look it up on KBBI ez as pie.

It arrived at a conclusion that when I think about "cloning" in English, it rhymes with "doubling" (you can look up synonyms of "cloning" on Google), to which in Indonesian should be "menggandakan". I'm not a language expert; someone local can have different thoughts on this, TBH.

Conclusion

I'm not complaining if 2025 is where all of us, even the normal people and boomers, like it or not, have to use the AI to simplify all of our lives, but seeing that YouTube is pushing the default automation system like this makes me have my doubts whether I want to keep using YouTube or not. Believe it or not, there are other video hosting platforms that are much better than YouTube, but in reality, many will end up keep using YouTube in the end. It's just that there's no other way around, and us content creators have to circumvent it if we're aware of this. We would have been given options if there is, however. Automation like this and AI-driven auto-dubbing system on this platform shows us how dangerously fast the evolution of the AI technology in this modern day and age. Back then, the AI was just a simple program like enemies in games, difficulty system, or those that you can consider an "expert system".

The pushing of the AI into our lives kills the creativity we have in our lives, ngl, and this is portrayed when SOG discussed about how people "cartoonizing" their images to look like what Studio Ghibli can do. Ugh.... 🤢

 

And well, it is what it is. We just have to deal with it.

The cracked ZMod3 is a no go

As the title implies, the cracked ZModeler 3 is a no go, and that really impacts the KMS activation of both Windows and Office (can't say if it's true, though). So, the backup resort has been made in case Office can't do sh*t on editing or making documents again, which is 4 days from now on. I'm using the OpenOffice like the one Linux Ubuntu has. This year, this... goddamn ZModeler 3 that's cracked by Dr.7FAR , has a significant no go, even though the environment (on Windows 7) was ready and all 3 options of crack have been tried while starting that false-flagged VBS script file that AVG Antivirus gets crazy by every minutes. Some of the EXEs have Alexa name in it when AVG detected one in the list of running processes. I can't assure that will hurt the SSD where my OS directory is, but if it's real, like I said before, I could end up nuking my PC, like... this OS I installed will become fully reset, like those dudes that have been VAC-banned from a gam...

Modding the Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer, it's not easy to begin with...

So let's begin. Here's what I do recently to the pre-exported Burke-class destroyer. Not almost as similar as the picture above, though, the destroyer ship can be fitted with SM2 missiles, Harpoon ASMs, and Tomahawk cruise missiles, as well as a frontal main gun and two CIWS turrets. It can land with a max of two helicopters as of Flight II type. Games that based on old DCS like LOMAC, LO:FC, LO:FC2, and DCS: Black Shark only limit weapons functions to anti-air, anti-ship, and anti-ground combat. A cruiser like Ticonderoga-class and a frigate like Oliver Hazzard Perry-class has this function. Tico-class is equipped with same weapons as Burke-class, but Perry-class is minus one: the Tomahawk. There are advantages and disadvantages placing the Burke-class destroyer in the DCS game.
