Got an Autodesk and GIMS IV, now time to get some learning

Got an Autodesk and GIMS IV, now time to get some learning. That's what I'm going to say.

Yesterday, if I'm not mistaken, I went to a computer DVD shop near my college place to buy what I wanted: an Autodesk 3ds Max. A shop owner there was quite nice, and somewhat reminds me to someone in another DVD shop at Jalan Terusan Jakarta Bandung, some place called Azimuth. Of course the computer DVD shop didn't sell porno videos (yeah, no shit); it's a paradise of all computer applications (executables) and video games that can be played/used in a computer.

At some point, and because it was rainy (but not too hard) and getting dark (into the nighttime), the shop was not too crowd by buyers who passed by. I had a fun chat while buying the DVDs for few minutes before dinner. While I do the fun chat, I started with a simple question: "Do you have an Autodesk program?" The shopkeeper replied, "Which Autodesk program do you want?"

I replied back, "The 3ds Max."

Frankly enough, this DVD shop sells all kinds of Autodesk 3ds Max variants, starting from the older ones (I think it's 2009) to 2016 ones. However, as stated in GIMS IV Int'l forum:
Script's fully compatible with 3D MAX 2012.
Other versions after 9 SP 1 should work too, but they won't be supported by me.
So for that, I started to look for latest versions. Shopkeeper suggested me to grab the 2013 or 2014 ones, as most users in my country and around the college where I learn uses the 2013 and/or 2014 version. I do still using the old computer with 4 gigs or RAM, and idk if it works or not. I postponed my choose for that in a while because I started to look for another games.

I picked yesterday the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 game (because it reminds me with screenshots of this game that taken online while browsing Naruto pictures) and Microsoft Flight Simulator X (the reason I bought this because the similar CD at home were broken and cannot be "read" at the computer). Then the fun chat goes and as a final decision, I grabbed the 2014 version of Autodesk 3ds Max.

All of those were 70,000 Rupiahs. I paid with a hundred thousand and grabbed a change. Then I went for dinner.

So after I got home yesterday, I tried the Bad Company 2 game and found out that mouse and keyboard controls are bugged. I do know the cheap price of this game DVD is that this game is a pirated copy. So that dawn I searched online the crack fix and got that game running smooth without bugs. Whoo... So much for the trouble.

This night, I tried Autodesk 3ds Max 2014 in my PC. It ran well so far, but weird thing is that this GIMS IV somehow not compatible and getting failures like in 2009. I checked the forum and found out that there was already latest version of GIMS IV for 3ds Max available. Because the last file I downloaded @ GTA4-Mods.com are outdated (it's a goddamn 2011 version), I had no choice but to go to this download site and check if this is the working version I'm looking for.

The working version is confirmed to be the latest version of GIMS IV and I have it tested in 2014 version of Autodesk 3ds Max. It works! But of course the maker will not support the bug addressing and others as maybe you and I are using the Autodesk 3ds Max later than 2012 (I do say 9 SP 1 was meant to be the 2009 version of Autodesk 3ds Max). Hit me if you say the GIMS IV do not support 3ds Max 2014, as I have it tried by myself, with thorough installation.

The FSX thing is not yet tried, noting that I'm in the middle of the final exam; max attention to this is required.

Well, now that this issue of "Autodesk 3ds Max" resolved, I can now start to get some web learning about how to create objects and others in this app. Make it feel like "a brave new world is waiting out there".

I still got some work to do. Have some rest; get ready for tomorrow, people.
