The Return of Ace Combat 6 emulation with Xenia and more news about this blog

If you read my old post pertaining Ace Combat 6 emulation through Xenia app that ended up bad (it's been 5 years, holy shit 🤣), well, I have good news for you readers who still care about my blog (as I start to neglect it even more due to more of my daily life updates are spent on Blaze's "Get Home, Be Home, Stay Home" Discord server).

If you have watched it, then you know what I'm talking about 😏. It was out 2 days before my birthday this year (like, holy shit I can't believe this 😱) and TBH, it's not even my birthday gift that I want.

 So, what's going on here?

Let's start up with the fact that emulation isn't perfect. Sure, you can say that such thing can be perfected from time to time, but TBH, the fact that I wanted to have a try on AC6 even though I don't own Xbox physically is getting my patience dry, so based on what I experienced 5 years ago, the Xenia application was at its infancy. It's not as perfect as today (to which the shots I showed there was having glitchy triangular surfaces and the fact that you have to have a Vulkan Runtime on a GPU means without it, the game runs like shit), so you get the idea here. Also, the issue with Xenia crashing by itself is just a random occurrence. If it happened to me, a small percentage might say that others will be experiencing that too.

Five years have passed and Astral here came with exciting news that let me give Ace Combat 6 emulated with Xenia a second try, to which it was worth it. The game runs on stable FPS, the graphics are smooth, no FPS destabilization, and my rig doesn't explode 🤣 (like, thank God my PC didn't bluescreened because of the GPU that can't keep up with the app's infancy). Even though the only issues are that the game when run on 120 FPS is having glitchy double-speed cutscenes and that the cutscenes are having glitchy audio, overall, the whole emulation of AC6 is good and I have zero worries of my computer exploding 🤣😌😤.

The preparations of emulating AC6 is rather simple. You just have to have a copy of AC6, along with Title Update #2 and all DLC packs (this includes Ace of Aces missions) installed within a new, specific Xenia "Canary Netplay" build intended for AC6. The guide that Astral provided in the video description will guide you through this process.

A Wish that Come True. Once Again.

Welp, it is what it is. No need to upgrade my PC to play AC6, which is a good compromise in my book. I can play this game whenever I wanted to, just like the older Ace Combat games that I can emulate with PCSX2. Also, with this announced, Blaze even opened up a new sister server revolving around Ace Combat 6 Multiplayer, like, how to set up, looking for players, that sorta thing. Note the sister server here. If you want to join up, you have to join in from the home server, which is the "Get Home, Be Home, Stay Home" (G[B]S) server. Join here and you can ask where you can sign up for AC6 MP and get started.

The State of this Blog

I gotta be honest with ya; with all my daily life activities being put towards Blaze's G[B]S server, I'm becoming less and less frequent in maintaining this blog site about my life activities. It's not gone (I hate when I see all my memoirs go away like a dream); all my posts about anything and everything revolving I myself as a character is kept, but in the future, I'm not gonna be telling much about what's new around me, what I'm thinking about, etc.; it's not Facebook, I'll give you that much, but it is what it is. Everything about that is put towards G[B]S server and I'm the most active there.

TBR with y'all readers, I'd like to go back in doing all the writing to express what I have in mind, what I've seen so far, and anything that comes up in mind and whatnot, but once I get more active on Blaze's server to which I have friends there, the mood on writing down in this blog started to diminish. Once gone, it's hard to get back, really. And ngl, writing takes effort, creativity, and manpower, so yeah...

As much as I wanted to go back, I gotta admit, I spend more time in Blaze's server than here. I wonder what made my blog gained some traction for posting some posts down in this blog though...; I'm just glad it's back to where I want to be, honestly.

I have more things to tell about but it's my time to go back to my usual stuff. The tandem mod release is near and I'm in the final steps towards the publishing. I'll let you know soon how it turns out. Expect some updates coming out from my Mod Releases.

With that being said, I'll see you again in the next blog post. Thanks for reading. 👋
