Okay, mobile game ads rn are really stretching it

I'm hating ads more than ever. Just Cause on mobile? Wut? Rainbow Stories? Excuse me? State of Survival? Ah, sh*t, here we go again. Illusion Connect? Makes me wonder how tf there's someone reacting on that particular gameplay like "got" and "lol" with that Jess No Limit and all. This is the reason why I do not want to play sh*t ton of advertised games with nothing that interests my playstyle OR not my theme that is either Naruto or Boruto.

Let's take a look at the very first I found this sh*t.

First time I rant about this

You might be asking, "why showing this?" "Why don't you just tap the Skip Ads button after the 5-second mark and get this over with?" To me, ads are the way to promote their product, be it the presentation will be good or bad. Last year and early 2020 I faced with this shit ton of game ads, and even an anime that was the first to know, One-Punch Man, turned into a mobile videogame. Not the type that I do like anime other than Naruto/Boruto, but believe me, there's so much shit going on that I can't even bother to watch other series until one dies out. In fact, I hardly remember any anime series I watched on TV, except Captain Tsubasa (too obvious), Whistle (Idk, though, but I do once have a wall poster or smth depicting that series, dunno if that exists), and one other anime where a kid gets dragged into a videogame and then when the game ended, he woke up in the night, knowing that the game has reached its end.

RoK and RoE that day was quite annoying by design or some shit. "Got"? The shot I got revealed someone that looked like someone reacting with the gameplay like reviewing Alip_Ba_Ta or smth. My dad loves watching people reviewed how Alip plays the acoustic guitar and even listening to it before going to bed or smth. I mean, seriously, it's not that I hate Alip_Ba_Ta in general, it's that if I can use some of his lovely acoustic guitar plays in one of my videos. Most of his guitar musics are from non-bangin' musics/songs. I have a hard time which scenario in a game that's best suited for his "My Heart Will Go On" music guitarized by him.

Jess No Limit showed up in RoK and this new LoL:WR game now, and for some reason it got subtitled bilingually in one time or line, which is a bad presentation by my standards.

Surprisingly, this SCOUTING app once show up as an advertisement that showcases how to detect crop/leaf disease with modern features and some sh*t. I mean, Ik it's something, and I have an argument on that from few posts back, but does that benefit the Indonesian farmers by any chance? This is something I should take a question of, because an ad like that, arrived to show up in Indonesia, maybe has something with the fertile lands that has paddies and/or crops. Indonesia is tropical enough for something like this.

I don't want to talk about that gambling game ad that show up by accident. Ever since that Diamond Casino and Resort DLC in GTA V, many countries have started banning that game for the sole issue: gambling.

Note that the shots I took are under the condition where I turned off ad personalization. The second shot on the most right is where I stumbled across a channel promoting Ethereum Giveaway or some sh*t that I do not want to participate in any way. I have checked that channel (that thumb with something like... is that channel promoted food?) and it only shows one video - the one that is being advertised. I got that when I watched a video about scamming people via Bitcoin, and that ad was not just one, but more. I may as well go dig into that blatantly displayed channel name in private mode and report it, who knows if that account could be one of them that's hijacked. I did that but I haven't yet reported it.

I believe this is the same case as I have seen on REN's channel, where suddenly, all his videos were gone and replaced by this Vitaliy Butter video offering 100k ETH giveaway, at the early 2020. That day, I unsubscribed that and when the user got that channel in control, I subscribed back in. Something tells me that hackers are trying to get his account information via phishing that Idk what that is, and then went into that shit. I better hope it doesn't come to me. I lost money, yes. I lost Steam account once, yes. But losing another? F*** no. This is why I put in strong passwords on accounts I value the most and be cautious on what I want to browse, click, or whatever I was doing on the Internet.

Ah, yes, this game right here, which I took it at the mid 2020, is the one that I think has few people reviewing it in an ad somewhere. If there's a channel that reviews this game, I'd love to see how they react to this after they played it.

Also, I don't wanna talk about Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, or even Olymp Trade. WTH Olymp Trade is still advertising it even though the government has already blocked the access to it?

Well, among all of those pile of ads, I managed to capture some shots of Boruto SSes from a channel named 09m_ ANIME AMV and a new one, 09m_ ANIME 2.0. Some gaming channels are posting these Boruto Snapshots of a particular episode (where parts have been cut per few scenes just to avoid being infringed by copyright, especially the guys from TV TOKYO, yes, that TV station in Japan that airs this series).

Today's ads and some sh*t

I remembered something before we move on. At one point I saw a Rick & Morty game ad show up once, and one Naruto online game show up (but not Naruto Slugfest). That was on this year too, but Idk when.

Some of the games, like ILLUSION CONNECT and this new game by Youzu or whatever, the Forsaken World, have this weird tactic of advertising games via someone reviewing the game without even holding something, like reaction channel or smth, similar to those who reviewed and reacted to Alip_Ba_Ta's videos. Other games are still not in my POI (point of interest), even though it's an action shooter game like WW Heroes and CROSSFIRE, as what editors picked via Google Ads service.

Among these pile of ads I saw, someone has already made and advertised a game from the anime I used to watch when it was the first to have a cable TV at home, Slam Dunk. What a coincidence. Brings back the good ol' memories before making Naruto and Boruto my favorite anime series in the entire time.

The rest, as you can see, is gaming ads by one user (Idk why he advertised that gameplay for, I found it quite rare, maybe twice this year), music videos, one video in a foreign language that Idk what's that about, TikTok (yeah, Chinese app TikTok that some channels like Techquickie doubted it for claims that it was used to harvest private data like how Facebook does, even my sis is a frequent TikTok user), Tinder and its usual Bujang Rimba sh*t (like, WTF? Why it's still advertising the same sh*t like I'm watching Hangover M/V by PSY and Snoop Dogg?), LoL:WR (the one I talked previously with that Jess No Limit guy), movie trailers (oh boy, time to get the torrents fired up), and this... BLACKPINK plays PUBG Mobile. Last time I have this ad about Covid-19 Global Meeting at the mid 2020, and seeing this... I'd rather watch my own videos instead of watching how they play that sh*t. In fact, I saved PUBG for rainy day.

Plus, this, short ads like Kredivo (that money borrowing operation like some kind of credit system that supervised by Financial Services Authority - Otoritas Jasa Keuangan in Indonesian), and long ads like JULO and AdaKami. What?

If there's a video showcasing that these are legit and supervised by FSA (OJK in Indonesian), I would still say NO to these. I don't even want to think about the safety of those or if I borrowed too much that debt collectors are chasing my ass 24-7.

The rest are nothing fancy, except this crazy ad of Rainbow Story that I talked in the beginning. What's this? Rainbow Dash? (Wait, it doesn't look like Rainbow Dash.)

The advertiser is advertising this game in an utmost blatant way that he/she said, "this game doesn't involve celebrities", "this game is using a low budget", "don't use Top Up because it's locked", "screenshot this code - who gets to enter the said code first, wins" (like some old games I saw, dang, forgot what that name was), etc., with some other WTF moments that "holy- WHAT?" SlyCooperFan1 act that demonstrated in Everything Wrong with Ace Combat 04.

That alone is what I don't want to really get that game installed on my phone for... what? I mean, I already have Naruto X Boruto: Ninja Voltage (but not yet touched it) and folks at NBI OpenChat said that Ultimate Ninja Blazing has announced a closure like "thanks for all the fish" for users of Ace Combat: Infinity (while I myself haven't touched or felt ACI because I don't have PS3, despite knowing the fact it's a microtransaction game used as a funding for their Ace Combat 7 game). Advertising that game that way is just too much for my standards. Seriously. It felt like something is in it that attracts the anime playerbase to play this game, get the rewards early, and be popular like the rest of the most trending games with mils (millions) of downloads (hi State of Survival).

Not that I want to express the hate of ads, I just complained why the "quirks" of mobile game ads are becoming weirder every second, every minute, every hour, and every day. This reminds me of Combat Wombat showcasing how "quirky" mobile game ads are.

The rest, however, is nothing fancy. There's this Chinese/Korean drama video-watching app iQIYI (wut? It sounded like Kekeyi by any chance) and WeTV that I have no interest on watching them like I'm watching Cansu & Hazal, Elif, and one other (those are Turkish drama series from quite a long time ago that aired on local channel named ANTV), this fake texting app like TextStory, newly premiered games like... okay, this is like PUBG, music video ad like usual, Black Desert Mobile (hi there, long time no see), and an ad showcasing someone unboxing some sh*t that... Idk, what's that?

On the other hand, though, ads from online shops are not as annoying as these mobile game ads, but still have to get there. The last screenshot I took on the right-hand-side is like "Hotel? Trivago" sh*t. I'll pass, thanks for offering.

So, what should we do?

YouTube is full of quirks; absurdity at its best, even if you turned off the ad personalization. Even some ads like this will show up in some videos about games, especially GTA V, which is most likely a scam, like... how the actual f*** can you play GTA V on a smartphone? It's just not possible unless there's something that involves in making your smartphone "a secondary controller to play games, like a gamepad or smth".

Well, the only way to get past these ads is using AdBlocker. But really, if you subscribed to a particular channel, best bet is to just turn off to make the one who you subbed will get revenue, even though these quirky ads are unbearable. If you just browsing through many channels (or... not a Google user or some sort), maybe AdBlocker will help you get past this mess. If not... well, if you're a content creator, you will get into many sorts of legal troubles. Otherwise Idk if that will affect your Google account entirely, where you can't even use your Gmail address to sign up to a particular service, or using it to download apps on Play Store.

At this point, this is about moderation. I chose to play safe by disabling AdBlocker on Firefox while browsing through YouTube videos. Besides, most of the video-playing ads have no option to report such ad whereas you can just skip it if it has a 5-second mark for the majority of them if the ad is longer than 10 seconds (some 15-second-ads can't be skippable).

Now, for a while I'm writing this, it inspired me something, about one app on your mobile phone that's like Siri or Cortana, but in anime version. Then there's this inspiration about making the Naruto/Boruto anime series to make it look like GTA in general, open world or smth like that. I wish someone makes that game, where you can make the protagonist like Naruto or Boruto dress how we like, like in GTA games or some sort.

As for that app with anime girl in it, I forgot what name it is, and Idk how to put it in a keyword that's suitable. However, now's not the time as I have this essay to do. It's not even easy to begin with because this is about research. I have to limit my game time solely to do this and plan to buy PW later.

I have TBH, this nonsensity is making me do not want to play any of those advertised games, because most of my gaming time are spent in front of the computer, not in phones - that was during school days; junior high, senior high... Ik that Pockie Ninja Social 2 was da best in my time, but it was sad that it got replaced with other games, and this Facebook has received complete makeover with new features and such, makes me rarely visit that place only to update my status, and this highly sensitive security system that made me locked out of my own account twice for using public computers. WHAT?

Maybe, just maybe, this Naruto X Boruto: Ninja Voltage, will worth my time playing games while I was out and away from computers or laptops, for a considerable time. I'm not really interested in Mobile Legends unless someone wants to play it using my phone, and knowing the fact that MLBB ads are getting more infrequent on YouTube (thank God for that). After that, I'll have a taste on the Shinobi Striker, and see what's that game all about.

Guess I'm taking too far about this, am I not? 😩
